I am an educator, scholar, and musician dedicated to fostering interest in world musics and cultures, particularly the music of Japan.

I was a part-time instructor in the Department of Music at the University of Pittsburgh from 2008-2010 and 2013-2015, where I taught undergraduate Introduction to World Music classes.

Meanwhile, as a founding member of Pittsburgh Taiko, I led lecture/demonstrations and hands-on workshops across the Pittsburgh area, and from 2015 to 2016 assisted the Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania in developing the TOMODACHI Ties Through Taiko cultural exchange program.
